Sheila R. Poling is a Managing Partner of Pinnacle Partners, Inc. With more than 20 years’ experience in the quality and productivity industry, she previously served as vice president of two nationally recognized consulting/training firms and a book publishing firm. Her management responsibilities have included managing 25 consultants and administrative staff. Sheila’s broad professional experience includes work in operations management, product, training materials and seminar development, marketing and sales, client interface, and customer satisfaction initiatives focused on business excellence with an emphasis on leadership and quality.
Sheila has also coauthored several work manuals, including “Perfecting Continual Improvement Skills” and “Strategy-Driven Six Sigma: A Champion Overview.” In addition, she has helped
design multiple course offerings focused on leadership training, organizational and operations excellence, Six Sigma, and statistical process control. She is currently serving on the American Society for Quality’s Six Sigma committee and on the Innovation Research committee.
Dr. Sophronia (Frony) Ward is a Managing Partner of Pinnacle Partners, Inc. She is a statistician and continual improvement expert who specializes in Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, and Statistical Process Control training, consulting, and coaching. Specializing in Black Belt, Green Belt, and Master Black Belt Training and Certification, “Frony” is currently sharing her expertise with numerous companies in her capacity as Senior Master Black Belt.
Since 1981, Sophronia has served as consultant to numerous automotive, government, glass, chemical, paint, healthcare, telecommunications, and food companies, assisting in the implementation of quality management and tools for continual improvement. She has been a lead consultant and/or trainer with Harley Davidson, IBM Corporation, Northrup-Grumann, NASA, Dow Chemical, Scripps Health, Social Security Administration, Novant Healthcare, Metzeler Automotive Profile Systems, IRS, Republic Paper, MacSteel, BellSouth and other organizations. While a professor at the University of Tennessee, Sophronia was one of four founders of the university’s internationally recognized Institute for Productivity through Quality.
